Daily Dental Care

Daily Dental Care is a revolutionary new product that has the potential to improve the health of millions of people by drastically influencing the oral microbiome. This novel product was developed by an Iowa native, Emily Stein. Emily has a PhD in microbiology from the University of California at Berkley, and a post-doctorate fellowship from Standford University in immunology and rheumatology. During her career, Emily studied the role of bacteria and their links between autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and periodontal disease and found that like the gut, the oral microbiome is a huge contributor to systemic health. Put simply, the bacteria in the mouth can be either supportive or harmful. For example, when “bad” bacteria predominate in the mouth, they can redistribute through the body via the bloodstream. If gums are inflamed, the tiny capillaries become permeable and allow bacteria to enter through the cell walls that end up in the lungs, brain, arteries, kidneys and so forth.

According to a retrograde analysis of hundreds of Medicaid cases in the U.S., has led to the realization that if you have a dental procedure with an unhealthy mouth that contains “bad” bacteria, you have a 50% higher risk of having a stroke or a heart attack four weeks following those procedures. It’s not the dental procedures themselves, it’s the wrong oral microbiome that influences disease. This is backed by research connecting both gut microbiome health and oral microbiome health as influencers of each other. We now know that periodontal diseases, and the bacteria that lead to it, are directly linked to Alzheimer’s, rheumatoid arthritis, urinary tract infections, heart disease, prenatal birth and other chronic autoimmune conditions.

Historically, the dental profession has fought tooth decay, gingivitis (bleeding, inflamed gums), periodontitis and other conditions like bad breath with anti-microbials and antibiotics. Unfortunately, these methods often are hard on the good bacteria, and often do not work without a low carbohydrate diet and meticulous oral hygiene. Floride can only kill off some of the bacteria, and when decay is present, there is already a disproportionate number of bad bacteria (streptococcus mutans and others) feeding on carbohydrates in one’s diet. Dental hygiene visits do slow the progression of disease but can only do so much if a person has the wrong oral microbiome. Brushing and flossing can reduce the burden, but they do not eliminate the pathogens that are being dislodged around the mouth.

Due to this very issue, Emily developed a patented pre-biotic that works by starving the bad bacteria while simultaneously promoting the good bacteria, without the use of antibiotics or the worry of built resistance. The product works because it contains cyclodextrin, a safe, soluble fiber found in nature that interferes with how “bad” bacteria catabolize carbohydrate. In other words, the bacteria are still surrounded by carbohydrate but can’t use them and are therefore “starved out.” Simultaneously, Daily Dental Care has L-Arginine which neutralizes the glycolytic acids that cause dental decay and Vitamin b6 which helps the “good” bacteria to prosper and predominate by catabolizing amino acids instead of carbohydrate. Her product is safe, not a drug, and bacteria cannot adapt to it over time. This rebalancing act takes several weeks when Daily Dental Care lozenges are dissolved in the mouth at least three times a day. A recent study showed that his routine reduced dental plaque (an aggregation of bacteria and the destructive byproducts) by 80% compared to placebo in a cohort of patients at a memory unit after just six weeks. This product is remarkable in that during this process not only is the oral microbiome changed, but also it can modify the bacteria that are found in chronic disease states!
